What drew us to Matamata Country Club initially was our desire to spend our retirement in a place that offered security and a stress-free lifestyle. After 24 years in Auckland, we were ready to move somewhere safe, with a great location and easy accessibility, but without all the traffic and busyness that comes with city life.
Since moving to Matamata Country Club, our experience has been wonderful. First and foremost, the quality and workmanship of the homes are second to none compared with the other retirement villages we looked at. We wanted a well-built home that would stand the test of time, and the exceptional quality here gave us complete confidence in our decision.
What really surprised us was the incredible sense of community. The people here are absolutely wonderful, and they’ve made settling in so much easier than we ever expected. Matamata township has everything we need for day-to-day living, so we rarely need to leave town. When we do travel further afield, it’s because we want to—not because we have to.
We love the lifestyle and look forward to the wide range of activities and facilities available in the near future. Whether it’s swimming, lawn bowls, croquet, or spending time in the snooker room—which happens to be one of our favourite hobbies—there will be always something to enjoy. It’s exciting to see the Bowling Green and the first stage of the clubhouse with a cafe nearing completion, and we can’t wait to make the most of these fantastic new facilities.
Another important factor for us is knowing that, in the future, care services will be available on site. That gives us real peace of mind, knowing we can continue living in the community we love as our needs change over time.
