Jack and Pauline Tesselaar never imagined themselves in a retirement village—until they discovered Matamata Country Club. As lifelong farmers, the couple sought a home that blended their love for the outdoors with the conveniences of retirement living. After exploring Matamata Country Club, they were impressed by the spacious, customisable homes and the beautiful, natural surroundings.
“Right from the onset, it was one of those moments in life where everything just felt right” says Jack. “We had always loved the view of the hills from the farm and here, right on the fringe of town, it literally followed us around. Mature, established trees were part of a very well designed development and, along with the thought of Pauline being in her element planning our first new build, I was very comfortable that, regardless of what our ‘senior’ years might bring, the complex would provide everything from health and medical care, to facilities that fit our active lifestyle and enjoyment of spending time with our children and grandchildren.”
Pauline has been thrilled by the high-quality fittings, flexible floor plans, and the opportunity to design their new home with features like a walk-in pantry.
“What made it enjoyable for us as first time new home builders, was through each process you had a designated person assigned for the clients of Matamata Country Club.” says Pauline. “So when we went to pick out our kitchen, bathroom fixtures and fittings, we would make an appointment and have a one on one consultation with them. They stepped you though all the pre-selection options available (that Matamata Country Club had already done the legwork on), then it was up to us to select from those or change as we liked. This was the same choosing appliances, kitchen joinery options, soft furnishings, and other choices throughout the house. A lot less daunting than going into a shop, finding a sales person and the trolling through the entire showroom to make your decisions. Each consultant was only an email away and we found them all very helpful and approachable.”
With their December handover approaching, our new residents are eagerly anticipating joining our new retirement community.
