That was it for us once we saw the show home. The choices and the quality was huge for us. Everything is extremely high quality with very tasteful décor. It’s just stunning. We were given many choices around carpets, drapes, blinds, splash backs and they were extremely open to discussing anything you required such as making your deck larger. We had a lot of input into the colour scheme and made our own choices from the variety of what they offered us. There was a lot of flexibility and they were very good at listening.
The clubhouse is a magnificent building with a movie theatre and library. The lounge area is just stunning. It’s like living in a luxury resort with a swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, gymnasium, and outdoor bowling greens.
We have a large home (about 254m²) on quite a good sized section. It’s very open with great indoor outdoor flow. It didn’t feel like we were moving into a retirement village, it felt more like a lifestyle.
We built our last home and lived there for over 20 years. But we didn’t have double glazing so that’s a real advantage here. Personally we prefer living in this home to the one we left. It was still a very modern home but it had a stairwell whereas this is just nice and flat, easy living.
As you get older, it’s a wonderful feeling to be secure. They have security vehicles come through the village a couple of times a night. The gates are locked and the lighting is excellent. It feels very safe.
Residents go out together, have little social gatherings and form wonderful friendships. There’s plenty on offer. Some months there are up to 100 activities that we can be involved in. We have an incredible events coordinator and people go to her with ideas and they’re always followed up on. It’s a very social lifestyle. So it’s perfect if you like an active and social lifestyle but if you want to stay at home and be quiet, you can. You’ve got options. You have choices.
When you come home from golf and you haven’t played very well, you usually find that your lawns have been mowed! They put a lot of care into the gardens. They’re very attractive and well maintained.
